Bones

I’m too old to be your child
long hair once falling away to gray
bones once strong
wrapped long around you
now break to your touch
as the heart burns with ashes
and mixes with dirt
clawing like a blanket
as an unseasonable warmth
that leads me down
towards your arms.

    This is very significant and representative of so many things. It could be an old person nearing death or someone young who feels old inside. I love the structure and your words speak loud and clear.
